The 2009 BMW 3 Series will be revealed for the first time to the public at the world renowned auto show. For the 2009 models in the BMW 3 Series, BMW is offering diesel engines in North America for the very first time. The BMW 3 Series with gasoline engines have a 6-speed manual transmission and some models have a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Convertible and the Coupe also offer a new 7-speed sports automatic transmission with a double clutch. A new feature included in the 2009 BMW 3 Series is a navigation system that offers the option to store digital music files because the navigation system is also a hard drive.

The 2009 BMW 3 Series comes with traction control, ABS, an antiskid system and front side airbags. Every model except the convertible comes with side airbags that cover the heads of each seating row.

The interior of the BMW 3 Series has been redesigned slightly to bring a sleeker look to the inside of the vehicle. Almost everything is rounded off, including the dashboard, the center console and the front seats. Compared to the 2008 version of the BMW 3 Series, the interior is much more attractive in 2009. Because BMW decided to round off almost everything inside the vehicle in the front seat, the 2009 version appears to be roomier than the 2008 version.

The BMW is one of the most attractive and popular foreign luxury vehicles in America and is evidenced by the number of 3 Series sold in 2005. 98,000 vehicles from the BMW 3 Series were sold in 2005. Most of the models in the BMW 3 Series can go from zero to 60 in less than 7 seconds. They also produce 23 miles per gallon city and 33 miles per gallon highway.
